The Family Photo Project

The Family Photo Project (2021) was a project funded by DCASE and executed by Andino Photography. The goal was to explore the most central social unit of our lives: family. Who is your family? What do they mean to you? Are blood bonds somehow more important & lasting than chosen bonds or vice versa? What happens when your family doesn’t look the way that society tells you it should? What does it mean to be a family living on the North, South, or West side of Chicago? A Black family in Chicago? An immigrant or refugee family? An LGBTQ family?
